Board Member since 2024

I have been coaching debate with the Nashville Urban Debate League since 2012.  I am currently teaching at Lawson High School (formerly Hillwood High School).  When I am not teaching or coaching debate, I enjoy time with my husband of 11 years and our two dogs at home.  I enjoy live music, traveling, college football, and spending time on the beach.  

Why Debate?

As a teacher and debate coach, I have seen firsthand how transformative debate can be for students.  It builds so many important skills and instills a sense of confidence in my students that is hard to describe!  Debate allows them to become confident researchers, speakers, thinkers, and competitors.  Teaching students these critical skills while also watching them become leaders is something I will always be passionate about and invested in.
