Nashville Debate League is happy to salute our Spotlight Alumni: Soteria Reid, Class of 2017

Soteria Reid was a star NDL debater when she was a student at Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet School. Not only did Soteria win multiple top speaker and team awards during her time competing in the Nashville Debate League, she and her partner, Dylan Gyauch-Lewis competed at the NAUDL National Championship Tournament two years in a row! Before her senior year, Soteria planned and directed the NDL Middle School Debate Summer Camp. She also started a middle school debate team at Meigs Middle School and ran middle school workshops at the high school tournaments. She even made time to act as an assistant debate coach at Lead Academy and lead another summer debate before heading off to college.

Soteria was awarded a QuestBridge Scholarship to attend prestigious Northwestern University.
Today, Soteria attends Northwestern where she volunteers for the Chicago Urban Debate League and recently completed an internship with Northwestern’s Office of Social Justice Education. Needless to say, the NDL is very proud of our very impressive alum, Soteria Reid!
