Academic policy debate demonstrably improves test scores and classroom performance. Debaters enter the adult world prepared to develop informed opinions and express them effectively. Through intensive research, debaters learn to read and think critically about a wide variety of public policy issues. Admissions officers regularly cite participation in debate as one of the most beneficial of extracurricular activities for college applicants.
MBA’s Big Red Summer Debate Camp is designed for students with very little or no debate experience. Taught by MBA’s outstanding and nationally-known debate coaches, the Big Red Debate Camps will take students through an introduction to the nature, structure, and purpose of public argument in a fun and fast-paced environment. Campers will receive an introduction to the rules and practice of competitive debating as it is practiced in middle and upper schools across the nation. These camps are a great introduction to those who wish to explore the world of competitive debate.

Summer Debate Institute
Dartmouth, Hanover, NH DDI, July 12 – August 8, The DDI is a 4-week Policy Debate program. DDIx, June 29 – July 10, The DDIx is a two-week Policy Debate workshop prior to the DDI. Debaters will get a head start on the competition with a week of skills and strategy focus with lots of practice speeches and debates. Learn More. |
